Nilangaw? AVC ticket prices slashed ahead of quarterfinals

Amid growing complaints on social media, organizers of the AVC Women’s Volleyball Champions League have lowered ticket prices ahead of the tournament’s quarterfinal round.

Originally priced between P1,550 and P2,550, the tickets were widely criticized for being too expensive—leading to visibly empty seats in the stands. On Wednesday, the official ticketing site reflected the updated pricing aimed at drawing in more spectators. The revised prices are now:

Patron (Reserved Seating): P1,050 + online fees

Lower Box (Reserved Seating): P550 + online fees

Upper Box (Guaranteed Seating): P150 + online fees

The Premier Volleyball League confirmed the price cuts through its social media channels.

Fans on X (formerly Twitter) expressed relief and support for the change, pointing out how the earlier pricing may have discouraged attendance.

“Buti naman binabaan price ng ticket sa AVC, nakakahiya sa foreign team(s) waley nanonood,” said @juanwizxh.

“TYL, ALL FOR YOU! Di na lalangawin AVC. Bumaba na presyo ng ticket,” wrote @hashish012.

“Kaya nilalangaw yung AVC Champions League kasi napakamahal ng ticket. Ang daming gustong manood sana,” echoed @ChinoCruise.

“Nilalangaw AVC, mahal kasi ng ticket. Capitalist jud,” added @BreyngM.

“Kapag naiisip ko yung kamahalan ng ticket sa AVC, nakakahinayang kasi for sure ang daming gustong manood kaso hindi afford yung tix… Sayang yung crowd sana, homecourt advantage na dapat!” said @itiserricks.

All three Philippine clubs—PLDT, Creamline, and Chery Tiggo—have advanced to the quarterfinal stage.

The knockout games resume today, April 24, at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City, with matches set between 4:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.

Pool A action kicks off with Kazakhstan’s Zhetysu VC facing the PLDT High Speed Hitters, followed by a clash between the Creamline Cool Smashers and Thailand’s Nakhon Ratchasima.
