Zamboanga ready to face challengers ‘anytime, anywhere’

Fresh off being elevated as the undisputed ONE Championship women’s atomweight champion, Denice Zamboanga is ready to defend her title against anyone, anywhere.

Zamboanga assumed full champion status after Stamp Fairtex was forced to withdraw from their scheduled unification bout this August in the United States due to injury.

With ONE Championship yet to announce her next opponent, Zamboanga issued a bold statement of readiness.

“To ONE Championship—I’m ready to defend this belt anytime and anywhere, whether it’s in the States, other parts of Asia, or right in my very own country, the Philippines. Let’s go!” she said.

Zamboanga also expressed gratitude to her supporters who stood by her throughout her journey.

“God’s timing is always perfect. I may not have envisioned becoming champion this way, but I trust His plan,” she said. “Stamp is an incredible athlete, and I’m praying for her healing and strength. I’ve looked up to her as both a competitor and a sister in this sport, and I know she’ll come back stronger.”

Zamboanga previously earned the interim title by stopping Ukraine’s Alyona Rassohyna. She was set to challenge Stamp in a title unification clash, but the Thai fighter suffered a knee injury setback that ultimately led to the bout’s cancellation and Stamp relinquishing the belt after nearly two years of inactivity.
