In a major upset, the Creamline Cool Smashers—finalists in 14 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) championships—were eliminated by the PLDT High Speed Hitters in the semifinals of the 2025 PVL On Tour.

Creamline fell in a grueling five-setter, 25-27, 25-22, 25-19, 16-25, 10-25, last Tuesday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

It was an unusual position for the league’s perennial champions, but fans stood by the team, expressing both their pain and support online.
