Gilas Pilipinas received a boost despite its 2025 FIBA Asia Cup exit, with FIBA officially ruling that Quentin Millora-Brown is a local player and not a naturalized one, according to SEAG Network.
The 6-foot-10 Fil-American center, part of the University of the Philippines’ UAAP championship squad last season, is now a step closer to representing the Philippines in major international tournaments.
In a previous interview with Abante Sports Now, Millora-Brown expressed excitement about playing under national coach Tim Cone and contributing to Gilas’ frontline. Known for his size, athleticism, and versatility, he is expected to add depth to the team’s interior.
The clearance comes a day after Gilas’ 84-60 quarterfinal loss to world No. 7 Australia in Jeddah and ahead of preparations for the 2027 FIBA World Cup Asian qualifiers and the Philippines’ defense of its Southeast Asian Games gold medal in Bangkok this December.
Cone has previously praised Millora-Brown’s physicality, offensive rebounding, and overall impact, saying the big man could make an immediate difference in upcoming campaigns.
