SBP: Gilas SEA Games roster not finalized yet

The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) clarified that Gilas Pilipinas’ roster for the 2025 Southeast Asian Games in Thailand has yet to be finalized.

SBP president Al Panlilio stressed that while several names are already being floated, no decision has been made on the official 12-man lineup.

“Gilas Pilipinas’ lineup for the 2025 SEA Games is not set yet,” Panlilio said in a Viber message to Fastbreak on Tuesday night.

Reports indicate that a number of players have expressed commitment to suit up for the national team in its bid for a 20th SEA Games gold medal. Among them are Japan B.League standouts Matthew Wright, Bobby Ray Parks Jr., and Francis Lopez, as well as Korean Basketball League campaigners Kevin Quiambao and Samjosef Belangel.

However, their participation will still depend on clearance from their respective clubs since the SEA Games falls outside the FIBA international window.

Other names reportedly being considered are Quentin Millora-Brown, Michael Phillips, Mason Amos, Kean Baclaan, Remy Martin, Kihei Clark, Jason Brickman, and Boogie Ellis.

Meanwhile, Barangay Ginebra San Miguel’s resident import Justin Brownlee and naturalized big man Angelo Kouame are also in the mix for the team’s naturalized player slot.
