Runners Go All In for Rescues at Joker’s Wild 5K

PINE MOUNTAIN, GA. (WRBL)-This Sunday afternoon, 70 runners and walkers took a gamble on fun and fitness at the Humane Society of Harris County's inaugural Joker's Wild Run for Rescues in Pine Mountain, Georgia.

The event featured a Poker Run 5K and a one-mile walk—all to raise funds for the no-kill shelter based in nearby Hamilton.

In a twist on the traditional race, participants picked up a playing card at each kilometer of the 5K. At the finish line, they drew one final card—completing their poker hands.

The winners? Not the fastest, but those with the best hands at the end placed in their age group and was awarded with a medal and applause.

All in all, a "FULL HOUSE" of fun for a good cause. If you would like to support, head over to HS HARRIS COUNTY . ORG.
