COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) -- Good Thursday morning! After that warmer stretch yesterday, temperatures have taken another tumble — many spots are waking up in the mid to low 40s. You'll definitely want a jacket early on, though you might be shedding it by afternoon.
Sunshine returns in full force today, helping highs rebound into the upper 70s. A few wispy cirrus clouds may drift by, but overall it's shaping up to be a beautiful fall day.
Tonight, mostly clear skies will once again let things cool off quickly. Expect lows near 50, with some rural areas dipping back into the 40s by sunrise.
Friday looks dry and pleasant, with temperatures holding steady in the mid to upper 70s. Clouds begin to increase Saturday ahead of our next system.
By late Sunday, a weak disturbance moves through, bringing showers and possibly a rumble of thunder. The rain will be welcome — though it's not quite a drought-buster — and scattered rain chances will linger into Monday and Tuesday.
A stronger cold front then arrives Wednesday, bringing another shot of rainfall and a cooler push behind it.
