Eldrew Yulo claims horizontal bar bronze in Cairo

Filipino gymnast Karl Eldrew Yulo captured a bronze medal in the men’s horizontal bar event at the 2026 Artistic Gymnastics World Cup on Monday night in Cairo, Egypt.

Yulo delivered a score of 13.733 in the final to secure a third-place finish. China’s Li Honqyan topped the event with 14.400, while Cyprus’ Georgiou Marios placed second with 13.900.

“He mirrors his Junior Worlds success by clinching the Bronze in the Horizontal Bar Final! With a massive score of 13.733, our young champion continues to make history,” the Gymnastics Association of the Philippines wrote on their social media page.

The result marked another milestone for the young Filipino gymnast, who continues to make his presence felt on the international stage.

Yulo also picked up a bronze medal in the men’s floor exercise earlier in the competition, completing a two-medal haul in the tournament.

The 2026 Artistic Gymnastics World Cup, held from April 3 to 6 at the Cairo International Stadium, featuring elite gymnasts from various countries. (AC)
