The Alas Girls dominated the attacking department, finishing with a 54-40 advantage in attack points. Alas Pilipinas also held the edge in service aces, 14-11.
Mexico, however, had the upper hand in blocking, 11-8, and committed fewer errors, 19 compared to the Philippines’ 23.
The victory allowed the Filipinas to bounce back after dropping their tournament opener to defending champion China in straight sets.
