A Filipino fan who has become a familiar sight at Alexandra “Alex” Eala’s matches at the Canadian Open is hoping to find a way back into the stands after running out of tickets for her upcoming clash with Belinda Bencic.
The supporter, known as “Tito Trex,” has drawn attention in Toronto for showing up to Eala’s matches wearing a dinosaur costume and passionately cheering for the Filipina tennis star.
With no ticket left for Eala’s Round of 16 match against Bencic, an appeal has been made to the Toronto Filipino community to help the fan gain access to the match.
“If anyone from the Toronto Filipino community can help him get a ticket or access to watch Alex Eala’s match, please do so,” a social media post said.
“Tito Trex has become such a positive source of energy and support in every Alex Eala match. His dinosaur costume brings so much excitement, joy, and Filipino pride to the crowd.”

The appeal came after the dinosaur-costumed fan was spotted during Eala’s first-round victory over Alycia Parks and again during her match against Caty McNally.
Eala herself has taken notice of the unusual supporter, although she admitted she did not see him during her match against McNally.
“You know, today, I didn’t see him in the crowd. I knew he was there. People told me he was there,” Eala said after the match.
“But, wow, what a legend. Like, it was so funny when I first saw him the first night. Amazing.”
Eala said the fan has added a unique and entertaining touch to the support she receives from Filipino fans.
“I don’t know. It was like such a light, funny spin to kind of like how people support me. It just comes out in very unique ways and I think he’s really stood out,” she added.
Eala will face Bencic in the Round of 16, and Filipino supporters are now hoping Tito Trex can secure a ticket and once again bring his trademark dinosaur costume and energy to the stands. (Adrian Co)
