STRONG Group Athletics-Pilipinas finished runner-up in the 2026 Formosa Women’s Volleyball International Invitational Tournament after falling to Japan’s Aleeza Aichi, 17-25, 19-25, 15-25, on Sunday at the Xinzhuang Gymnasium in New Taipei City.
SGA was unable to keep pace with the Japanese side in the championship match as Aleeza Aichi controlled the contest from start to finish to claim the tournament crown.
Despite the loss, the Philippine club wrapped up an impressive campaign by securing the silver medal in the international tournament.
Strong Group Athletics concluded the competition with a 1-1 record, winning one of their two matches before bowing out in the title showdown.
The runner-up finish marked a solid international showing for SGA, which fielded a roster composed of players from Farm Fresh Foxies and Zus Coffee Thunderbelles. (Adrian Co)
