We all know how valuable coins are – admit it; you wouldn’t survive in a typical commute if you don’t have them in your pockets. However, some people are more creative when it comes to using their own coins.
Take this man’s case, for instance. Witty Feed reported the story of Rich Holtham, a man living in one of the most developed countries in the world – the United Kingdom. By the looks of it, he is definitely rich.
Why? Rich owns his own hair salon and he wanted to fix his floor. However, he thought that it might cost him a lot. In fact, he reportedly estimated that it would amount to 1,000 pounds.

This is roughly equivalent to Php 65,886.05. Yes, that’s how expensive is floor tiles are. We don’t know what made them so special for him to be able to spend an amount like that but remember, in U.K., everything’s pricey.
So what did Rich do? Instead of paying that outrageous amount for his salon floor, he gathered 700 pounds of his money and had these bills exchanged to around 70,000 pennies – or coins. When all that was done, Rich decided to cover the damaged part of the floor with the pennies.
Why is this? Rich said: “We wanted a new floor but the cost of getting it done was expensive and we wanted to do something a bit more unusual, so we looked at a few different ideas online.”
The salon owner added: “We had to take our own cash to the bank and we had to take hundreds of pennies out a day. In the end, we took out £700 worth of pennies. That's 70,000 coins.”

We’re not sure how they persevered by gluing all those pennies on the floor but it was reported that it took them a week.
What do you think about Rich’s idea? If you had a damaged floor, what would you have done?
