"Why are search warrant serve before dawn!" Drilon reacts on Ozamiz Mayor’s death

Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon, a full blooded member of Liberal Party reacted to the killing of Ozamiz City Mayor Reynaldo Parojinog and wife Susan Parojinog during a raid by the CIDG on July 30.

The Parojinogs are known to be strong allies of the LPs and the family has been ruling Ozamiz for decades. The Mayor was one of the top list in President Rody Duterte’s drug list.

Drilon is bothered of the incident as it according to him, the act was the same with the killing of Albuera Mayor Espinoza in Leyte.
“Why are search warrants, served before dawn as in the cases of Mayor Espinosa and now, Mayor Parojinog, result in the deaths of the persons being searched? Both are tagged as drug lords. Too much of a coincidence?” Drilon said in a statement.

He added that search warrants are generally served during daytime and court rules state that the issuing judge must specify why it must be served at night, in certain cases.
Drilon statement elicited different reactions on social media especially from followers of famous blogger Thinking Pinoy.
Here are some reactions of netizens:

Some just laugh at poor senator saying "hahahaha Meron bang raid na ipapaalam muna?"

Meanwhile the facebook page VOVph wants to ask Drilon regarding serving of warrants.
Ozamiz City police chief Senior Inspector Jovani Espenido said Mayor Reynaldo Parojinog was willing to surrender prior to the scheduled raid.
“[Nagsabi] siya sa akin na mag-surrender siya pero kalaunan, noong magkasama na sila ni Vice Mayor (Nova Parojinog, his daughter), ‘di na natuloy iyon,” Espenido said in a press conference on Sunday afternoon.
Espenido pointed out that he kept on convincing the Mayor to surrender.
