Manila Standard former Editor-in-Chief Jojo A. Robles revealed that members of Liberal Party which he called as ‘yellows’ allegedly tried to bribe the parents of Kian Delos Santos, who got killed during an anti-illegal drug operation conducted by the authorities to join the movement against the Duterte administration.
According to his Facebook post, some members from Liberal Party which he didn’t named allegedly offered P2-M to the parents of Kian Loyd Delos Santos family in exchange of joining an anti-Duterte launching yesterday.
If they accepted the money offered to them, the parents of Kian Delos Santos would be paraded in the streets to show to the public that they opposed the war against illegal drugs by the Duterte administration.
But Robles said that the parents of Kian refused to accept the money and decided to went to Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) chief Persida Acosta to ask for a meeting with President Rodrigo Duterte.
“P2 million. That was the offer of the Yellows to Kian’s parents,” Robles said.
“Their first job was to join that anti-tyranny thingy launching yesterday, where they were to be paraded as Exhibits A and B,” he added.
He didn’t disclosed where he got the information, but he said that he’s going to add more details in his column tomorrow.
Robles said that the parents of Kian Delos Santos, “though poor, can’t be bought”

President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday assured the family of slain 17-year-old student Kian Loyd delos Santos that justice will be served following his killing at the hands of rogue Caloocan cops.
“He promised us that he would help solve the case because anyone who is guilty should be punished,” said Lorenza delos Santos, Kian’s mother, speaking in Filipino.
Lorenza and her husband Saldy had lunch with the President at the Malago Clubhouse in Malacañang Park after he arrived from an event in San Fernando, Pampanga, past 1 p.m.
Duterte assured the parents of Kian that no one will meddle in the case, noting that only the courts and the prosecutor will handle it.
At the same time, Duterte vowed there would be no cover-up of abuses committed under his administration.
“I don’t cover up abuses. That’s not the work of the President,” Duterte told Kian’s parents. “Our work is to protect the people.”
The meeting, requested by the Delos Santoses, lasted more than an hour.
