Netizen slammed parents of a 12-year-old- Filipina girl in Singapore who took her life after barely passing Math exams at school.

The little 12-year-old girl was identified as Lisa, Secondary One student (first year highscholl) at Cedar Girls Secondary School in Sembawang, Northern Singapore that put too much pressure on herself to get the best results in school and that ultimately caused her to commit suicide. At such a young age!

Teachers described her as an active student participating in the school's track and field team. She was also polite and quiet, that's why her death was quite unexpected.

According to the report, the tragic incident happened on August 3, at one of the flats in Sembawang. Her parents were understandably devastated by her suicide and still could not fathom the reason for her death. She was found dead in her school uniform. Lisa’s mother said that her daughter had always been an overachiever from young and had been unhappy ever since she entered secondary school as she couldn’t make any new friends.

"She told me a few days ago that she had received the results of her mathematics test, and she had barely passed the examination so she was upset. But I never thoought that she would commit suicide," her mother told the reporters.

Apparently her father was home at the time of the incident, around 6.00pm and one of their tenants recalled the police knocking on doors to determine whose child had tragically died.

"When her father discovered that it was actually his only daughter that had died, he broke down and cried. They had moved in when the girl was just four or five years old and they were a close-knit family. The girl had always been quiet and well-behaved so her suicide was a huge shock.” said the principal of the Cedar Girls Secondary School.

The police have confirmed that they are investigating the cause of death. But netizen continue to blame the child's parents for her death. A lot of them believed that Lisa wouldn't be an 'overachiever' as her mother claimed if she was not pressured to get high grades and excel in school.
