Ozamiz slain Mayor Parojinog, 7 others tested positive on paraffin test

Slain Mayor Aldong Parojinog, tested positive of gun powder residue as well as the 7 of fifteen who died during the raid in Ozamiz City, said Philippine National Police spokesperson Chief Superintendent Dionardo Carlos on Thursday.

Carlos quoted the Crime Laboratory Region 10 partial report that stated Mayor Aldong was shot on his face and chest.

"Positive for paraffin test or gunpowder nitrate si Mayor Reynaldo Parojinog at iba pa nilang kasama. Si Mayor Parojinog, may two gunshot wounds sa chest and face," Carlos said in a press conference.

Testing positive in a paraffin test only means that a gun near a person was fired.

"Ibig sabihin sa firearm near their body or limb was fired kaya nagkaroon ng gunpowder burns," he said.

"It will show us that the firearms that were recovered in the premises were used and there was a gun battle, there was  an exchange of gunfire and it will reinforce na meron ho talagang nagpalitan ng putok kasi nandun po sa loob ng premises ‘yung mga katawan na nag-positive sa gunpowder burns," he added.

Meanwhile, through her lawyer, Ozamiz Vice Mayor Nova Parojinog claimed a grenade was thrown at them, however, it did not explode.

Through a text message, Carlos told the media, ""Let him present that in the court proceeding."

"They should back it up and the Philippine National Police will not tolerate any wrongdoing of our members," he added.

Fifteen people were killed in a clash at Ozamiz City while law enforcers were serving search warrants on homes of the Parojinog, who are alleged narcopoliticians and involved in many other criminal charges.

Added on fatalities was, Daryl Parojinog, which was recorded in the hospital,

Mayor Aldong Parojinog, his wife - Susan, and his brother, Provincial Board Member Octavio Parojinog; and sister Mona.

Despite the fifteen dead bodies, only eight underwent autopsy.

"There were seven that were not autopsied because nag-waive yung family. They did not want the body of the relative to be autopsied anymore by the Crime Lab," he said.

There were no firearms found near the bodies of Susan and Mona which is why they weren't subjected for paraffin test.

According to Carlos, the killed suspects weren't shot in a close range.

"Wala namang mention (sa report) na meron siyang smudging so it was delivered at a distance," he denied.

Meanwhile, Vice Mayor Nova Princess Parojinog and her brother, Reynaldo Jr.,  were arrested and brought to Camp Crame. The two will be facing non-bailable charges.Fifteen people were killed in a clash at Ozamiz City while law enforcers were serving search warrants on homes of the Parojinog, who are alleged narcopoliticians and involved in many other criminal charges.
