November last year, Mariel Rodriguez gave birth to her first child with action star Robin Padilla. But aside from being a mom to their baby, Mariel has also been a second mom to Robin’s daughter Kylie Padilla.
On January 2017, Kylie announced she was three months pregnant with fiance Aljur Abrenica. Abrenica shared how excited he was about being a dad.
"Nakakatuwa kasi masaya, kasi blessing 'yun, eh. Sino ba naman ang hindi sasaya na nagkaroon ka ng anak, bilang isang lalaki, sa babaeng mahal na mahal mo?"

Abrenica also admitted that he and Kylie have been engaged since October last year and have also been living together since. He also confessed he proposed twice, first was during their trip to Japan and second was here in the Philippines.
"Kahit wala akong trabaho ngayon, matagal na yung huling project ko sa GMA, mayroon naman akong naipon kaya bumili ako ng singsing para sa kanya," he said.
Truly, Kylie is thankful to love and be loved by Aljur. Meanwhile, there is also someone whom she is thankful for—it’s her stepmother Mariel.

Last May, Mariel threw a baby shower for Kylie and this made her really happy. On her Instagram post, Kylie said: “Thank you to this amazing woman who made all of this happen. I really don't know how to thank you enough for making magic happen for my baby's baby shower from theme, to the guests, to the registry at mother care and even the setting up of the place. I can't even fathom how much work you put into this night and even while taking care and being such a dedicated mother to baby Maria.”
In a more recent news, Mariel was seen taking care of Kylie before and after she finally gave birth to a baby boy. According to Youtube page Pinoy Showbiz Latest, she was giving Kylie tips and advice while the then soon-to-be-mom carefully listened. Kylie and Aljur named their baby Joaquin.
"The fear has now become just a whisper and I've been mentally preparing myself for total submission and surrender to you. The strength you give me is unexplainable," Kylie said during her maternity shoot.
