A "lone wolf" shooter did America's deadliest mass shooting in a fastidiously planned assault subsequent to sitting tight for three days in a hotel suite before striking at a festival horde of 22,000.
The suspect, Stephen Paddock, 64, murdered no less than 59 individuals and harmed a further 527 when he fired on concert-goers from the vantage point of a 32nd-floor hotel room in Las Vegas.
Armed with as many as 20 weapons, including automatic and semi-automatic rifles, Paddock opened fire at 10:08 pm on Sunday (5:08 am UK time) in a shooting spree that kept going in the vicinity of five and 10 minutes.
The shooter was later discovered dead inside his hotel room.
Police said they discovered more than 19 rifles in the shooter's room, as indicated by The New York Times. They included two weapons mounted on tripods at the windows and many rounds of ammo. Police the previous evening recouped extra weapons, explosives and ammo from Paddock's home.
