Quezon City Mayor Herbert "Bistek" Bautista was with the Nationalist People's Coalition before and he transferred to the Liberal Party (LP) years ago.
And his news surprised everyone that after 7 years being with Liberal Party he decided to return back to the Nationalist People's Coalition in preparation for the 2019 congressional election.
For 22 years of his existence, he served at the various sectors in Quezon City. And last month he took his membership oath before NPC chair Emeritus Eduardo Cojuangco Jr. However, he did not announce the change on his party list.
According to Ares Gutierrez a City information officer, Bistek doesn't want to announce his move because he doesn't want to be involved in any political issues.
From 1992-1994 when he was elected as city councilor he was with the NPC party list.
And in 1995, he joined with Laban ng Demokratikong Pilipino where he won as the city vice mayor.
In 1998 he tried to run for mayor but he was defeated by Ismael Mathay Jr. However, his comeback was a blast in 2010 and got the place with a landslide vote.
Other than Bautista, Joy Belmonte also changed her affiliation from the Liberal Party to Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban).

And according to her, she found herself in line with PDP-Laban advocacies.
If members of the LP will continuously leave their membership then do you think this is the start of the LP's downfall?
