Back-to-back blessings for Lady Eagles as Ateneo enters UAAP season with two 'faiths'

ALL eyes are on the Ateneo Lady Eagles as they get their chance to defend their UAAP womens’ volleyball crown, backed up with a deep-rooted Atenean faith, as well as the freshest addition to the team, prized rookie Faith Nisperos.

Having handled Nisperos a couple of months now, head coach Oliver Almadro sees a bright future ahead for her in the team.

“Of course she’s going to be an asset for us. I pray that she becomes an instrument this season. She’s a gift to the Ateneo community,” shared Coach Oliver to SPIN Life. “I’m thankful that the Lord gave us the faith, and for giving us Faith.”

As the hardworking 20-year-old prepares herself for her collegiate debut with her dream team, Coach O also commends her initiative to learn from her older teammates.

“’Yun na nga ‘yung maganda sa kanya. Faith wants to achieve excellence. She doesn’t stop until she gets it. Mapapadali ang buhay ng coach sa mga players na tulad niya,” he said.

He added: “She’s also very responsible, she wants to do it on her own, she has enthusiasm all the time. Sunod, she’s more than willing to learn. Kumbaga, lahat ng pwede pang idagdag sa sarili niya, she’s trying her best para magawa yon.”

While Coach O speaks highly of the rookie spiker, Nisperos also gives credit to her 'ate's for helping her adjust well to Ateneo’s system.

“Thankful ako sa kanilang lahat kasi they’re helping me a lot, nagtatanong talaga ako sa kanila kasi alam kong napagdaanan na nila ‘to, may experience na sila,” Nisperos said.
