Netizen’s emphatic message to Regine Velasquez – “Do not sway public opinion by gaining sympathy, hindi po yun nakakatulong sa paglutas ng kaso”

Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez Alcasid has been very vocal calling for the extension of ABS-CBN’s franchise, which is until now in limbo after Congress has yet to pass a law for that purpose.

On Instagram, Asia’s Songbird sounded very emotional and desperate at the thought that the Filipinos will be deprived of their favorite loveteams, SOAP dramas if ABS-CBN’s franchise failed to get an extension from Congress.

The title of the Abante.com article perfectly captured the sentiment of the Songbird in the event ABS-CBN goes off the air after March 30, 2020, “Paano ang Pinoy kung walang Cardo, Vice Ganda, KathNiel?

The Abante article was inspired by the Instagram post of Regine which opened with a question concerning her fate and her mother network.

Regine urged her Instagram followers to ponder what life will be after ABS-CBN goes off the air for failing to secure an extension of their franchise. Anong ibig sabihin nito????

Then Asia’s Songbird went on to remind the public what they will miss without ABS-CBN on TV.

Regine Velasquez Alcasid’s emotional Instagram post has gone viral since she published it 19 hours ago and generated 23,480 likes on Instagram.

While many of Regine’s fans share the sentiment of the Songbird, not all are happy and agree with Regine using her popularity to sway public opinion in favor of ABS-CBN.

The foremost example is Facebook netizen Noel Landero Sarifa, a staunch Duterte supporter and self-confessed Regine fan, who took to Facebook expressing his strong disagreement with the singer-actress.

On Facebook, Sarifa confessed that he is a fan of the singer but he wished the Songbird should have thought that watching TV, especially ABS-CBN is not a basic necessity. According to him, the basic necessities are food, water, shelter blah, blah and ABS-CBN isn’t.

Sarifa joked that the Filipinos dinner plate won’t have rice if they watch the TV show of Vice Ganda, they won’t get a free bus ride when watching Kathniel.

Sarifa added that he is still alive and breathing even if he has not watched a single episode of “Ang Probinsyano”

Sarifa teased Regine that she has not appeared in ASAP for decades, yet she was able to sing. He asked what the heck was “Love thy woman”? He joked he has not watched the teleserye but he is still breathing.

Sarifa remarked that he is tired of TALA that has been going the rounds on Facebook, even if Kathniel, LizQueen and MayWard are freely available, he is not interested to watch it.

Sarifa reckoned if Regine thinks ABS-CBN’s news program will be most affected of the closure, he would not mind it because all they dish are negative news, black propaganda against the government, he is fine with ABS-CBN’s going off the air. Stress is not welcome to Filipinos who love this country.

Sarifa ended the FB post with a message to Regine – “Do not sway public opinion by gaining sympathy, hindi po yun nakakatulong sa paglutas ng kaso.” He appealed to the network’s talents to let their lawyer to answer the allegation. If they have not committed any violations, what are they scared of? The network is covered by our Constitution, not above the law.

The network has 10 days to answer the allegations, prove ABS-CBN’s innocence and tapos po ang usapan, kapag hindi napatunayan, face the consequence. Ganun lang po kadali yun. Do not sway public opinion by gaining sympathy, hindi po yun nakakatulong sa paglutas ng kaso.

Salamat
