VP Leni Robredo can deny all she wants but based on her actions, like the need for constantly making statements on issues to stay relevant, she is going to be LP’s bet in the 2022 presidential election.
Can she win? Well, that’s a different story. But if the surveys is any indication, she has a China man’s chance of succeeding President Duterte.
First, Robredo’s intellect has been the butt of jokes on social media especially after the infamous 4×40 = 1600 gaffe when she released a video on social media criticizing President Duterte’s handling of the rice crises.
Lately, radio host Mark Lopez questioned Robredo’s leadership skills after flip-flopping on her stance regarding the China-wide ban of all flights.
Lopez highlighted Robredo’s earlier statement calling for the China-wide ban of all flights on January 30.
Leni Robredo, in a press release dated January 30 – “IMPOSE A CHINA-WIDE TRAVEL BAN! ANG KASALUKUYANG BANTA NG CORONA VIRUS SA BAWAT PILIPINO AY NANGANGAILANGAN NG AGARANG AKSYON MULA SA PAMAHALAAN”
However, on February 2, Robredo issued another statement, this time telling the public to go easy on the Chinese, to be more sympathetic and not treat them harshly because it’s not their fault.
Leni Robredo, in a press release dated February 2 – “DAPAT MAGING SYMPATHETIC TAYO SA KANILA. KAYA SANA HINDI NAMAN GANOON ANG TREATMENT NATIN KASI HINDI NAMAN NILA IYON KASALANAN.”
Lopez could only shake his head and asked, “So mga peeps, eto ba ang klase ng lider na gusto nyo mamuno, lalu na sa isang krisis?”
Lopez said is this their kind of leader who would act tough but after Barry reminded her that tough statements might earn her the ire of the Fil-Chinese community, she would quickly change gear?
Ano, ung tipong una eh magpapapaka astig tapos nung sinabihan ni Barry na “Ma’am nagalit po mga Fil-Chinese sponsors natin at huwag na daw kayo umasa ng support sa kanila sa 2022 election” eh ayan at biglang kakambiyo?
Lopez wondered if Robredo can be depended upon to fight for the welfare of the general public especially when her personal ambition and interest is at stake, because as far as Lopez is concerned, she would not hesitate to turn her back from the people in favor of the oligarchs?
Yan ba ang aasahan natin na ipaglalaban ang taumbayan eh pag napunta na ang usaping pang personal na ambisyon at interest eh ilalaglag ang bayan para sa mga oligarchs?
Lopez also asked netizens if we want a BS Aquino part 2 who is stupid in the person of Robredo?
Gusto nyo ba ng isa na namang BS Aquino III na mukhang kasing tanga?
And Kiko Pangilinan as Robredo’s right hand and Hilbay as legal adviser?
Tapos ang kanan kamay eh si Kiko Cuneta, at ang legal adviser eh si Flower Hilbay?
If that’s the case, Lopez said he would rather go home to Japan.
