Retired broadcaster Jay Sonza chided his former network on his latest FB post for criticizing politicians who are EPALs.
In a Facebook post that has been meet with “Yes i know this,” comments from netizens, Sonza revealed the hypocrisy of his former bosses and their money-making scheme called Foundation.
Sonza remarked that ABS-CBN is also EPAL and full of drama. “Binabatikos ang mga pulitikong epal. Ngunit, Gawain din ninyo ang sobrang drama at epal.”
Sonza alleged that all they (ABS-CBN Foundation) donated to the public also came from the public. Not a single cent came from the pockets of the owners of ABS-CBN or from the ABS-CBN itself. “Lahat ng pinamimigay ninyo ay galing sa taumbayan. Wala ni singkong duling ang galing sa bulsa ng may-ari o mismong kumpanya ng abs-cbn.”
This includes the building, vehicles, prime land and lots and all the properties of the foundation came from donors. No money came from the company or network. Sonza was referring to the money used in the acquisition. “Pati building, sasakyan at mga lupain at ariarian ng foundation ay galing sa donors. walang inilabas na Pera ang kumpanya o network.”
Sonza said he knows what he is talking about as he was one of the people running the Foundation. “I should know, we were running the foundation for 10 years. 1986-96.”
Sonza ended the FB post with a forceful message to ABS-CBN: “TAMA na ang paawa drama! Tama na ang mga kasinungalingan.”
One netizen said he had thought about this for a long time, particularly the Yolanda donations. “Yan din ang iniiisip ko. Lalo na yung donations for yolanda, SUSMIO marimar halos naka 1billion sila dun.”
Another netizen agreed with Sonza’s allegation vs ABS-CBN. “Yep almost all activities of ABSCBN are thru sponsorship. Maong naundang among Barangay Patrol sauna hosted by Randy Canedo tungod kay wala na miy sponsor 
sayang among tinuod serbisyo publiko (mga naningkamot behind the camera) pero dili jud tinuod ang slogan nga “in the service of the filipino” kay maundang ra man ang nindot unta nga programa basta wala nay sponsor “
This netizen commented by adding another words of wisdom to live by. “BEWARE OF WOLVES IN SHEEP’S CLOTHING !!! Di baga sila ang mga magdarayang pilantropo na mandarambong numero uno ? Sambayanang pilipino wag ng palinlang dahil ang kawatan tila maamong kordero pag nagnakaw ..nakakurbata’t nakabarong sila ang mga lilo … ang wika ko’ totoo at syento porsyento :D”
Another netizen shared a golden nugget when it comes to donating during natural disasters to avoid falling for this type of scam. “Kaya nga pag may mga sakuna/calamity, laging “in kind donations” binibigay ko. Hindi ako nagde-deposit ng pera sa mga bank accounts ng ABS-CBN SAGIP KAPAMILYA. Pinagkakakitaan talaga nila yang mga pa-foundation na yan.”
Meanwhile, the ABS-CBN Foundation has not issued a statement with regards to its former employee, who has an axe to grind against the network.
