“Salamat sa butihing pangulo sa pagpapatupad ng batas” — Netizen reacts to news report gov’t to collect P23B owed by 4 power firms

FB blogger Noel Landero Sarifa was very excited to share the latest piece good news to his followers on Facebook from the Duterte administration.

Sarifa remarked that after Duterte administration successfully obliged companies like Mighty Corporation, Philippine Airlines et al. to pay what they owed to the government, it is now after power firms. “Pagkatapos ng Mighty Corporation, Inquirer, ABS-CBN, Philippine Airlines, Water Concessionnaires, the government is now after power firms who owe the government billions of Pesos.”

Sarifa reported to his FB followers that as far as the government website is concerned, four of the firms have responded positively to the government’s demand amounting this much money to the government coffers. “Four power producers have committed to pay their financial obligations to the government amounting to more than PHP23 billion Pesos.”

Sarifa went on to name the (4) power firms who owed money to the government and provided their corresponding debts. “Private firms that committed to pay the financial obligations were Meralco, PHP15 billion; Northern Renewables Generation Corp., PHP4.6 billion; FDC (Filinvest Development Corp.) Misamis Power Corp., PHP2.6 billion; and FDC Utilities, Inc., PHP1.2 billion.”

Sarifa said no wonder our country had no funds in our coffers in the past, aside from the fact that we have been plagued with corrupt government officials, many owed billions of pesos to the government that should have been used for the public. “Kaya naman pala walang pundo ang bansa dati, aside sa mga corrupt ang officials ng gobyerno, madaming hindi nagbabayad ng buwis and those are billions of pesos na sana nagamit para sa taumbayan.”

Sarifa added that the public expects to uncover more of these anomalies and get corrected. He thanked our good President for implementing the law and likewise to the people who voted the President to power. “Alam nating madami pang anomalya ang mabubunyag at maitatama. Salamat sa butihing pangulo sa pagpapatupad ng batas at salamat sa taumbayan sa pagboto ng tama kay Pangulong Duterte.”

Sarifa remarked that this kind of anomaly would have remain unchecked if the Tuwid na Daan (Liberal Party) won in the 2016 election. He said this is the practice the Dilawan wants to continue and wants Duterte out. “Ito ang mga anomalyang hindi sana naitama kung nanalo ang tuwid na daan, at ito ang gustong ipagpatuloy ng mga dilawan kaya gusto nilang mawala si Pangulong Duterte.”
