Take note of this lane closure along Cavitex on Saturday, March 14

In addition to the imminent lane closure along Cavitex that will be caused by the LRT-1 Cavite Extension project, there will also be other parts of the tollway that will see more lane closures—this time as a result of the Cavitex road enhancement program.

The Cavitex Infrastructure Corporation (CIC) has recently announced that the program is now on its second phase, which means one more lane will be added to widen the bridges along the tollway. This Saturday, on March 14, 2020, construction will commence along the southbound portion of Parañaque bridge, and there will be lane closures implemented during off-peak hours—specifically, from 12am-8am. Class 1 vehicles headed south may use the counterflow lane following a speed limit of 60kph. You can check out the official Facebook post below.

“Upon completion of the second phase of this project by Q2 of 2020, we will be able to make more room for motorists plying Cavitex, especially now that our traffic volume has increased by 9% since January 2019. Our traffic management plans are in place, we will be deploying marshals in areas under construction,” said CIC president and general manager Bobby Bontia in a previous statement. “We thank our motorists for their continued understanding and cooperation. We are aware that this project will be a temporary inconvenience.

“Rest assured, when the works are over and the project is completed, they will surely feel the ease of passage in Cavitex. Our motorists are [our] number one [priority]. We listen to them and their suggestions, and this project is a long-term solution to their feedback on arresting traffic congestion.”

Will you be driving through the expressway this weekend? If so, then schedule your trips accordingly.
