The current Isuzu MU-X is slowly but surely getting older. Consider the landscape right now: The Nissan Terra is a relative newcomer, while both the Ford Everest and Mitsubishi Montero Sport received facelifts just last year. The one big competitor that has yet to be refreshed is the Toyota Fortuner, but even that model has received a couple of minor upgrades recently like improved smartphone connectivity and a new reversing camera.
Thankfully, Isuzu Philippines (IPC) has decided to slightly upgrade its midsize SUV for 2020. The new infotainment system in the 2020 Isuzu MU-X now has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability. It’s no facelift, granted, but we still find the change pretty substantial.
The MU-X gets a few other improvements, but this time on the outside. First is the front grille, which sports new styling—the lower chrome trim gets a slight redesign. The second change is the new two-tone design of the alloy wheels, which is only available in the LS-A variant. They’re pretty stylish, and we wish IPC made them available across the range, but we digress.
That’s basically all of it—everything else in this SUV remains untouched, including the prices. If you’ve been looking forward to an all-new model or, at the very least, a major refresh, you might have to wait a bit more. For now, tell us what you think about these small upgrades Isuzu has given the MU-X.
