The Honda Odyssey has made a name for itself as a capable family car thanks to its spacious cabin, host of extra features, and, of course, comfortable ride. Now, Honda is set to introduce the refreshed Odyssey model at the upcoming 2020 New York International Auto Show, and it seems that the popular minivan has become even more family-friendly than ever.
But first, let’s talk about the aesthetic changes. It sports a redesigned grille and lower front fascia, complemented by more powerful and efficient LED headlights and new fog lamp housings. There are a few bits of chrome strips added around the exterior, as well as new-look 19-inch alloy wheels to boot.
Inside, the vehicle gets even more tech. Apart from the Honda Sensing suite of safety and driver-assist features that now comes standard across the range, the new Odyssey also has a rear-seat reminder system that alerts drivers to check their rear seats before they exit the vehicle. On the higher-end Touring and Elite trims, this system is complemented by the CabinWatch camera which allows drivers to display the back rows of the vehicle through the infotainment system.
In addition, the Odyssey has updated climate controls and its second-row seats now fold flat. Seatback pockets, cabin-contrast stitching, floor mats, illuminated USB ports, and seat material all vary depending on the trim level. For the North American market, the Honda Odyssey packs a 3.5-liter i-VTEC V6 engine capable of 280hp, which is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission.
We’ll be able to see the new vehicle in all its glory once the doors to the upcoming show open in April. What do you think of the refreshed Honda Odyssey? Would you want this to be made available in our market?
