Overheard, Angel Locsin aka 143redangel on Twitter lambasted Suzette Severo Doctolero, GMA 7 head writer, whom she accused of busy discrediting her while she’s fighting for the people.
YES, malaki po. but for you to discredit me while I’m fighting for the people, shame on you https://t.co/MK0pivHLqG
That line, “I am fighting for the people” of Ms. Angel Locsin caught the attention of Atty. Trixie Cruz-Angeles of the FB page Luminous by Trixie Cruz-Angeles & Ahmed Paglinawan and triggered an FB post.
In a brief Facebook post, Atty. Trixie Angeles rebuked Angel Locsin for abusing the word ‘people’ in justifying her cause, which is to fight for her interest and ABS-CBN employer.
‘For the people? ABS CBN is not “the people”. Their interests and the public interest do not necessarily coincide.’
Atty. Angeles went on to enumerate the alleged abuses of ABS-CBN which she said were meant to impose their own point of view. She described this as dangerous for the public. More so if that singular projection makes the public dumb.
‘FOR THE PEOPLE yung labanan ang panggugulang ng ABS CBN, yung dominance of thought and belief na iniimpose nito sa taong bayan. Yung dami ng stations, yung pag ere ng dalawang channels, yung pagsisik nito sa frequency ng AMCARA… all of these impose a singularity of point of view that is dangerous for the public. Especially if that singular projection dumbs down the population.’
Atty. Angeles ended the brief tirade by leaving a thought-provoking line for Ms. Angel Locsin.
‘When you are part of the hegemony, you cannot say you are fighting for the people. You are part of the problem.’
