Filipino-American guard Jalen Green has been selected for the USA Select Team, assisting Team USA in their preparations for the upcoming 2023 FIBA World Cup scheduled for next month.
The Houston Rockets guard is among the 12 players listed for the USA Select Team, set to participate in scrimmages alongside Team USA in Las Vegas from August 3 to 6.
Previously, there was hope for Green to join Gilas Pilipinas, but he became ineligible to play as a local player after failing to obtain a Philippine passport before turning 16 years old.
In addition to Green, the USA Select Team includes NBA players Cade Cunningham, Jalen Duren, Chet Holmgren, Quentin Grimes, Keegan Murray, Herb Jones, Naz Reid, Payton Pritchard, Jalen Williams, and Trey Murphy.
Also joining the squad, as announced on Monday night (Tuesday, Manila time), are former NBA players Langston Galloway and John Jenkins, along with Eric Mika.
