Anthony Davis signs 3-year extension with the Lakers

Anthony Davis will stay with the Los Angeles Lakers until 2028 after signing a 3-year, $186 million extension with the Purple and Gold, according to NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski.

Davis still has two seasons left on his current contract. With the extension, he is set to earn a total of $270 million through 2028. This makes his new contract the richest annual extension in league history.

The former number one pick has already played four seasons for the Lakers, in which he appeared in 194 regular-season games. Last season, he played in just 56 games due to a number of injuries and averaged 25.9 points, 12.5 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game.

With Davis signing an extension, the Lakers were able to secure their future just this offseason.

Last month, Austin Reaves agreed to a 4-year, $56 million extension, while Rui Hachimura will stay for three more years in a contract worth $51 million. In addition, D’Angelo Russell also chose to stay with the Lakers for two years, signing a $37 million deal. (MJD)
