Filipino-American guard Jalen Green is a potential candidate for the Team USA roster as they aim to secure the men’s basketball gold medal in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
USA Basketball Management Director Grant Hill has indicated that the Houston Rockets standout is likely to be included in the selection process, given his remarkable performance as a member of the USA Select training team.
“He’s really a talented man. I was glad he was there (at the USA Select Team),” Hill was quoted as saying in a report by the Houston Chronicle’s Jonathan Feigen.
“Hopefully, down the road, he will be considered for something as it relates to the men’s national team,” added the retired NBA player.
Green, one of the trio of Filipino-American players in the NBA, has prior experience representing the USA team during his college years.
Unfortunately, the former second overall pick is not eligible to participate as a local player for the Gilas Pilipinas due to his inability to acquire a Philippine passport before his 16th birthday.
