Youtuber Jake Paul decked former UFC star Nate Diaz before clinching a unanimous decision win in their DAZN/ESPN+/PPV.com Pay-Per-View event at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas, on Saturday.
It was a bounce-back win for Paul, who returned to challenging former MMA fighters-turned boxers after suffering a split decision against Tommy Fury.
Paul set Diaz up with a well-timed left hook to the temple that staggered the former UFC fighter to the canvas and nearly through the ropes.
Diaz survived the knockdown and managed to fight back.
But it was not enough to beat Paul, as the judges favored the latter all the way, 97-92, 98-91, and 98-91.
“I knocked him down; I won almost every round,” said Paul in Boxingscene. “I think he won that one round. Listen, Nate’s a warrior. I had him hurt in that first round, and he kept on coming.”
