The rematch between Justin Brownlee and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson is scheduled for next month during the 2023 Asian Games in China.
This comes after both Brownlee’s Gilas Pilipinas and Hollis-Jefferson’s Jordan are placed in the same group for the tournament.
Gilas Pilipinas, which secured a fifth-place finish during the 2019 Asiad, has been grouped in Group C alongside Jordan, Bahrain, and Thailand.
Brownlee and Hollis-Jefferson both emerged from an unforgettable clash in the 2023 PBA Governors’ Cup finals, where Hollis-Jefferson’s TNT Tropang Giga triumphed over Brownlee’s Barangay Ginebra San Miguel Beermen.
Hollis-Jefferson and the Tropang Giga secured victory in the series in six games, aided by Brownlee’s unfortunate bout of food poisoning during Game 5 for the Gin Kings.
Both reinforcements are poised to make a comeback for the Gin Kings and the Tropang Giga in the upcoming 2023 PBA Commissioner’s Cup, scheduled for this October.
