Rachel Donaire retaliated against her father-in-law, Nonito Donaire Sr., after his boxer, Mike Plania, experienced a third-round knockout loss to American Elijah Pierce last Saturday in Atlanta.
Rachel clapped back at Nonito Sr. on Twitter, responding to his prediction that his son, Nonito Donaire Jr., would suffer a knockout defeat in his world title match against Mexican Alexandro Santiago.
Nonito Jr. was not knocked out but suffered a unanimous decision loss against Santiago during their WBC bantamweight title bout in Las Vegas last July 30, Manila time.
“When predicting your son is gonna get knocked out vs Santiago goes karmically wrong within 7 days time. #pierceplania,” Rachel wrote on her social media post.

Nonito Sr. went viral a few days ago after expressing in an interview that he predicts Nonito Jr. will lose to Santiago via knockout.
“Knockout siya (Donaire Jr.),” Nonito Sr. said.
Days after the fight, Nonito Jr. took to social media to express his disappointment over his father’s statement.
Nonito Sr. previously served as Nonito Jr.’s head coach during his memorable victory over Vic Darchinyan in 2007.
“Wow. Just found out that my DAD was predicting I’d get KOed by Santiago. That stings differently,” Nonito Jr. tweeted last Wednesday.
“I AM breaking generational trauma. [And] if this process has to hurt, I’ll take it to ensure my kids never have to feel what I have felt. Hearing my dad say he’s training guys to beat me [and] teach me a lesson [and] predict I’m going to get KOed just so he can point and laugh is painful,” he added.
“But I will lead with my heart open and vulnerable and hold a safe space of growth, love and understanding so my kids and their kids will NEVER have to feel what I’m feeling. Again Dad, I wish u nothing but happiness. I hope [you] find that so [your] heart will be at peace,” he further said.
