Ray Parks joins Zeinab in Bali as Gilas prepares for FIBA World Cup

Bobby Ray Parks Jr. appears to have other priorities than Gilas Pilipinas.

During the critical phase of the national men’s basketball team’s 2023 FIBA World Cup preparations last week, Parks was in Bali, Indonesia, with his girlfriend, Zeinab Harake.

Both Parks and Harake shared their Bali trip experiences on their respective Instagram accounts towards the end of last week.

The Nagoya Diamond Dolphins import, who was absent from the initial stages of the Gilas training camp due to an “injury,” was consistently seen spending time with Harake.

Parks could have played a crucial role for Gilas Pilipinas in the upcoming FIBA World Cup, contributing his defensive skills and outside shooting.

The former National University Bulldog displayed a commendable performance for Gilas during their four friendly games against Iran and Senegal in China.

However, Parks was notably missing from Gilas’ last three friendlies against Ivory Coast, Montenegro, and Mexico.

On Monday night, Spin.ph’s Homer Sayson reported the formal removal of Parks from the Gilas 12 roster, along with fellow Japan B.League import Thirdy Ravena.

“He (Parks) must have done something (to be cut),” a source of Sayson was quoted as stating.
