LOOK: Team USA arrives in Manila for FIBA World Cup

The United States men’s basketball team arrived in the country on Tuesday morning, four days before they start their 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup campaign.

Team USA posted pictures of their arrival on their social media accounts, led by Filipino-American assistant coach Eric Spoelstra.

Team USA head coach Steve Kerr said he was excited to arrive in the Philippines for the first time, as he expects the team to have a good time knowing how passionate the Filipino hoops fans are.

“I am so excited to go to Manila. I have never been to the Philippines, so this will be fun,” the Golden State Warriors mentor said.

“I know how popular basketball is (in the Philippines), so this will be a lot of fun. We’re really excited,” he added.

Team USA is set to play their group stage matches at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
