Seventeen schools from the UAAP and NCAA are set to participate in the 2023 Shakey’s Super League pre-season tournament, which will kick off on September 16.
All 10 colleges from the NCAA have agreed to join, while only seven universities from the UAAP have accepted the invitation to compete.
Slotted in Group A are the defending champions: the National University Lady Bulldogs, the Arellano University Lady Chiefs, the University of the East Lady Warriors, the San Beda University Lady Red Spikers, and the Jose Rizal University Lady Bombers.
Bracketed in Group B are the reigning UAAP and Shakey’s Invitational titlist, the De La Salle University Lady Spikers, the NCAA champions, the College of St. Benilde Lady Blazers, the University of Perpetual Help Lady Altas, and the San Sebatian College Lady Stags.
The Adamson University Lady Falcons, Far Eastern University Lady Tamaraws, Emilio Aguinaldo College Lady Generals, and Lyceum Lady Pirates lead Group C.
The University of Santo Tomas Golden Tigresses, Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles, Letran Lady Knights, and Mapua Lady Cardinals banner Group D.
The University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons was also invited but has yet to confirm its participation.
