Inter Miami rebounds after Lionel Messi exits with an injury

Inter Miami CF bounced back with a 4-0 domination over Toronto FC in Major League Soccer on Wednesday night (Thursday, Manila time) at the DNV PNK Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Robert Taylor scored twice in the second half, while Facundo Farias and Benjamin Cremashi added a conversion each as Inter Miami improved to nine wins, four draws, and 15 losses.

Inter Miami suffered a huge blow in the first half as team captain Lionel Messi was subbed out in the 37th minute after reportedly suffering “discomfort” on his knee.

Also exiting due to injuries for Inter Miami were veteran Jordi Alba in the 34th minute and Tomas Avíles midway through the second half.

Farías opened the goal spree for Inter Miami in the 45+3 minute as he knocked in a right-foot shot from inside the box towards the top right corner of the goal.

The lead was doubled for Inter Miami in the 54th minute as Taylor drilled a right-foot connection from outside the box and towards the right side of the target.

Inter Miami went on to dominate Toronto as Cremashi unloaded a right-foot attack from the right side in the 73rd minute before Taylor completed his brace with a right-foot hit from a difficult angle.

Toronto FC dropped to four wins, 15 losses, and 10 draws with their latest downfall.
