Fans of Slovenian star Luka Doncic in the country criticized the referees for their perceived “one-sided” calls favoring Canada during the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup quarterfinals game on Wednesday night at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
The fans of the Dallas Mavericks star voiced their frustration with game officials on social media after Doncic received two technical fouls and was subjected to physical play by Canada.
In addition to social media, fans in attendance at the SM Mall of Asia Arena also expressed their discontent by chanting “referee sucks” after Doncic was ejected with over six minutes left in the contest.
