Maverick Ahanmisi joins Barangay Ginebra

Free agent guard Maverick Ahanmisi has reportedly signed a three-year contract with Barangay Ginebra.

Tiebreaker Times confirmed the report on Sunday, citing multiple sources.

Sports insider Snow Badua had already mentioned in his social media account that Ahanmisi may end up signing with a team within the San Miguel Corporation camp.

The Fil-Nigerian guard became a free agent in June when his contract with the Converge FiberXers expired.

Badua also revealed that Ahanmisi was asking Converge to give him a P900,000 per month salary.

Ahanmisi was coming off a breakout season with Converge. In the last Governor’s Cup, he averaged 19.2 points, 6.58 rebounds, and 3.08 assists per game.

With Ginebra, he is expected to provide scoring, especially with Jeremiah Gray out for the season and LA Tenorio still in recovery. (MJD)
