Report: Golden State Warriors uninterested in signing veteran center Dwight Howard

The Golden State Warriors are reportedly not interested in signing veteran center Dwight Howard.

“The Warriors are NOT expected to sign Dwight Howard or another veteran center ahead of training camp,” NBA insider Shams Charania reported.

Earlier this week, Howard underwent a two-day interview process with the Warriors as the team explored the possibility of adding a big man to their roster.

Last Tuesday, ESPN’s Kendra Andrews reported that Golden State’s invitation to interview Howard did not guarantee a roster spot.

“While this has brought up a lot of conversation externally, I’m told that the Warriors are looking at this just as another workout, just another guy they are bringing in to get a look at,” Andrews said.

“They want to bring in a veteran. They want to bring in a big man. By bringing him into San Francisco this week, that doesn’t mean he is a member of the team. This is just another part of the process as they look to fill out the remaining roster spots.”

Howard last played in the NBA during the 2021–2022 season, where he averaged 6.2 points and 5.9 rebounds per game for the Los Angeles Lakers. (MJD)
