Noli Eala on Terrafirma rookie Stephen Holt: ‘Sana lang huwag ma-trade agad’

Sports anchor Noli Eala hopes that the Terrafirma Dyip won’t trade away PBA Season 48 Rookie Draft top overall pick Stephen Holt, stating that keeping him could improve their performance.

During One News PH’s Power & Play program on Saturday, where he is a host, Eala suggested that the Dyip should retain Holt if they intend to make a good showing in the new PBA season.

“Stephen Holt is not your ordinary rookie; he is 31 years old and has played for 10 years professionally in other countries,” Eala said.

“He will definitely be a good help for Terrafirma Dyip (in the upcoming PBA season), sana lang huwag ma-trade agad,” he added.

This early, there were rumors that the Dyip was looking to trade Holt to a San Miguel Corporation-owned squad.

Historically, the Dyip have traded away their top-overall or first-round picks to either the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel Kings (Jeremiah Gray and Christian Standhardinger), the San Miguel Beermen (Jaymar “CJ” Perez), or the Magnolia Chicken Timplados Hotshots (James Laput).

During the program, Holt said he is determined to help the Dyip win as many games as possible and reach the playoffs in the upcoming PBA season.

“I learned that they won just three games (last season) so I am here to help them reach their goal—to reach the playoffs round and win as many games as possible,” Holt said.
