Jrue Holiday will stay with an Eastern Conference contender for the upcoming season after the Portland Trail Blazers traded him to the Boston Celtics.
In a report from Adrian Wojnarowski, the Celtics sent Robert Williams, Malcolm Brogdon, and two future picks to the Blazers to acquire Holiday.
The Blazers just received Holiday last week from the Milwaukee Bucks as an exchange for Damian Lillard.
In sum, the Blazers acquired Williams, Brogdon, Deandre Ayton, Toumani Camara, three first-round picks, and two pick swaps from the Lillard trade. They also lost Jusuf Nurkic, Nassir Little, and Keon Johnson in the process.
Meanwhile, the Celtics gained a veteran playmaker and a defensive stopper in Holiday. The one-time NBA champion averaged 19.3 points, 7.4 assists, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.2 steals for the Bucks last season. With his addition, Boston has a potential starting lineup of Holiday, Jayson Tatum, Jalen Brown, Kristaps Porzingis, and Al Horford. (MJD)
