UP’s CJ Cansino faces criticism for sticking his tongue out at Ateneo coach Tab Baldwin

University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons forward CJ Cansino received online criticism for playfully sticking his tongue out in front of Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles head coach Tab Baldwin during their heated game in the continuation of the UAAP Season 86 men’s basketball tournament on Sunday.

After sinking a corner three-pointer in the second half, Cansino playfully taunted the Blue Eagles bench and stuck his tongue out in front of Baldwin.

Nevertheless, it was Baldwin and the defending champion Blue Eagles who had the last laugh as they defeated Cansino and the Fighting Maroons in overtime with a score of 99-89.

Cansino’s disrespectful behavior towards Baldwin didn’t sit well with basketball fans, who expressed their disappointment in the former University of Santo Tomas winger for his lack of sportsmanship.

“Didila-dila ka pa, Boy Mantika.”

“Pag nag angas sana, siguraduhing maipapanalo, nice win ateneo 💪🦅

“Wala pa nga dumila na 😂

“Pag na una. Ang pag yayabang kadalasan talo na una kasi porma.”

“May lahing palaka kaya labas dila kahit sa kawalan ayun talo. 😂

“DILA NG DILA SI TROPA EH. PARANG SI LOLO JIM PAREDES 😅😅

“Hindi PA sikat hambog na, ugaling purdoy NG isang basketball player. 😭😭😭

“Maangas si boy dila, ngayon boy nga nga na! Nice one, Ateneo.”

Cansino later explained that he got carried away when he stuck his tongue out.
