Kiefer Ravena, Shiga Lakes notch back-to-back victories

Kiefer Ravena and the Shiga Lakes netted their second consecutive victory in Japan B.League Division 2 after an 88-78 triumph over the Bambitious Nara on Sunday night at the JTEKT Arena Nara.

The former NLEX Road Warriors guard logged in 25 minutes and finished with four points on 2-of-8 field goal shooting, to go with seven assists, three steals, and two rebounds for the Lakes.

Brock Motum finished with 24 points, including four three-point conversions; Justin Burrell added a double-double with 17 points and 15 rebounds; and Teppei Kashiwaga contributed 17 as the Lakes improved to a 3-3 slate.

Shaquille Hines ended up with 21 points and nine rebounds; Cheikh Mbodj also ended up with 21 markers; and Eiji Hayashi contributed 10 points as Nara dropped to 0-6 in the standings.

Meanwhile, AJ Edu’s solid game went for naught anew as the Toyama Grouses remained winless after six matches as they bowed to the Kawasaki Brave Thunders, 72-58, in Division 1 action.

The former Gilas Pilipinas center hauled 16 rebounds to go with eight points and four assists in 36 minutes as the Grouses suffered their sixth defeat in as many matches in the tournament.

Dwight Ramos, on the other hand, hit double-digits on offense, but the Levanga Hokkaido (1-5) dropped a 78-56 decision to Seahorses Mikawa in Division 1 action at the Wing Arena Kariya.

The Filipino-American forward finished with 10 points, including two three-point conversions, to go with four rebounds, two blocks, one assist, and one steal in 25 minutes of play for Hokkaido.
