Porter kinukumbinsi si Akowe lumipat sa UST

UST’s newest big man, Kristian Porter, is already shooting his shot—this time, off the court—as he playfully tried to recruit Collins Akowe to join the Growling Tigers following the Nigerian center’s official departure from NU on June 10.
In an Instagram story, Porter tagged Akowe and dropped a lighthearted invite for the UAAP Season 87 Best Foreign Student-Athlete to follow in his footsteps.
“@call_m3_kollin3 we going UST or what?? 😂

Porter announced his own move to UST on June 8 after transferring from Ateneo, joining a Growling Tigers frontcourt that recently parted ways with Malian big man Mo Tounkara.

If Akowe chooses to transfer to España, he’ll be adding size and presence to a frontcourt rotation already composed of Porter, Gelo Crisostomo, and incoming rookies Koji Buenaflor and Michael Mara for UAAP Season 89.

As of writing, Akowe has yet to commit to a new school. The 6-foot-10 center averaged 20.8 points, 19.2 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.8 blocks per game in Season 87 and made history as the league’s first-ever Best FSA 🏆 in the boys’ division.
