Coco Gauff wins second Grand Slam title with comeback over Sabalenka at Roland-Garros

Coco Gauff captured her second Grand Slam singles title after rallying past World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka, 6-7 (5), 6-2, 6-4, in a thrilling French Open final Saturday in Paris.

The 21-year-old American, who won her first major at the 2023 U.S. Open, became the first American woman to win Roland-Garros since Serena Williams in 2015.

Gauff, a +180 underdog per DraftKings, overcame an early 1-4 deficit and a dramatic first set that saw five straight breaks of serve before Sabalenka claimed it in a tiebreak.

Unfazed, Gauff dominated the second set with cleaner shot-making and fewer errors, breaking twice en route to a 6-2 win. She carried the momentum into the decider, securing an early break and holding off Sabalenka’s late push to serve out the match at 5-4.

With the victory, Gauff improves to 2–0 in Grand Slam finals and now turns her attention to Wimbledon next month as she continues her ascent in the sport.
