Atlanta Hawks fans gave D’Angelo Russell a rude welcome during their team’s home game against the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday.
The Hawks demolished the Lakers, 138-122, in a game where Russell finished with only nine points and five rebounds in 27 minutes.
Russell is rumored to be traded to the Hawks, as the Lakers are targeting Dejounte Murray. On Wednesday, Hawks fans made it clear that they didn’t want the trade to push through.
While Russell was taking free throws in the first half, Atlanta fans shouted, “We don’t want you,” at the Lakers guard.
The second overall pick of the 2015 draft is averaging 17.1 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 6.1 assists for the Lakers this season. The Purple and Gold are struggling to win consistently this season with a record of 24-25, good for ninth in the West. (MJD)
