Former NBA star Dwight Howard is gearing up to play for the Strong Group-Philippines in the upcoming Dubai International Basketball Championship later this month.
As per a report from The Athletic’s Shams Charania, the eight-time NBA All-Star and one-time NBA champion aims to stay in shape and explore the international market through his participation in the two-week tourney.

Before Charania’s report, Howard hinted early on Tuesday about a potential visit to the Philippines.
After participating in the Golden State Warriors’ training camp during the offseason, Howard aimed for an NBA comeback but was unable to secure a contract.
Under the guidance of Charles Tiu, the Strong Group experienced a quarterfinal exit in the previous edition of the same tournament, succumbing to Lebanon’s Al Riyadi.
