Akari Power Chargers’ preparation for PVL now at 70%, shares interim coach

Interim head coach Raffy Mosuela disclosed that the Akari Power Chargers are currently 70% prepared for the 2024 PVL 1st All-Filipino Conference.

He mentioned that the Akari Power Chargers’ second-place finish in the recent Akari Cup has prompted the team to recognize areas requiring attention as they strive to accomplish their goals in the upcoming PVL season.

“Right now, we are still at 70 percent. We still have a week before the start of the PVL season to polish our preparation,” Mosuela said during the PVL Media Day aired at Pilipinas Live.

“During the Akari Cup, we discovered several miscues and errors that we need to fix or improve,” he added. “I am confident that we can reach our peak before our game against Cignal (HD Spikers).”

Mosuela also said that the Power Chargers will still play without middle blocker Celine Domingo as she is still finishing her commitment with the Nakhon Ratchasima team in Thailand.

“The last thing I heard from Celine was that she would rejoin the team by March,” Mosuela said. “She is still finishing her contract with the Nakhon Ratchasima team in Thailand.”

In the 2023 PVL 2nd All-Filipino Conference last December, the Power Chargers concluded with a seventh-place finish and a 5-6 win-loss record.
